Anna Aprons!

Anna Aprons have arrived! I finally took the plunge and used Mama's old sewing machine that she gave me last year at Easter. My first project is making aprons for friends and family. I've come up with two designs (no pattern needed).

The Elizabeth (modeled here by my good friend Elizabeth White-Hurst--and the first friend to receive one).
And the Lyndsey (modeled here by me but made for my friend Lyndsey Rawl).
I'm very proud of this project and look forward to more (including bags, napkins, tablecloths, etc.). Yay for a new craft!

Germany and Austria: Christmas 2006!

What an experience!! The McLeod's 2006 European Christmas! Ashley and I went to Munich, Germany, and Innsbruck and Salzburg, Austria, Dec. 23-29. Here is a quick overview of the sites we saw. We arranged all of our travel and hotels online before leaving the states (thanks to travelocity, tripadvisor, and expedia!). Munich (above and below)
Innsbruck...a charming town in Austria, right at the Alps. Our hotel, Gasthof Innsbruck (pink building below), was right on the Inn River, across from the main part of Old Town.
Made me think of Charleston's Rainbow Row. The Golden Roof, a famous site in Innsbruck. On to Salzburg...the castle overlooked a pretty city. The Travelers! We made a great pair and had a fun time together. A great way to spend our 2nd anniversary! Our Salzburg hotel, the Hotel Garni Trumer Stube, recommended by Rick Steves. Back in Munich, the Viktualienmarkt, an open-air market with amazing veggies and fruits, plus meats and cheeses. YUM!
Our favorite find at the market...German sausages! One red and one white! See me in person and I'll explain that!
And our hotel in Munich was amazing. Stay there if you are in Munich...Fleming's Hotel Munich City Center! Check out the glass shower in the room!

I'd be happy to share a more detailed itinerary if you are interested. And I'd highly recommend traveling in Europe over Christmas--the decorations are beautiful and it feels so authentic instead of Walmart special. Happy New Year!!
