Goodies for Grandparents (and sick boys)

On Tuesday Levi's preschool hosted a Goodies for Grandparents event. Levi was lucky to have BOTH sets of grandparents attend (the actual event was really simple-- grandmothers got a bookmark Levi had "made" and there were snacks in the fellowship hall).
Here we are with Papa Charles and Granna.
And Da and Grandma. Levi was feeling a bit under the weather, hence his tight grip on the diaper cloth (his security piece) and cup.
Here he is, appearing in better spirits...probably because he has his foot on the table!
These carnations have lifted my spirits this week...$3 from Publix and they've lasted over a week already.
Why did I need my spirits lifted? Well, Levi, as it turned out, has an ear infection (again) and Ashley has had some crazy cold with a horrible sore throat and chills since Wednesday. Ashley is on antibiotics and Tamiflu (as a precautionary measure for Levi and I) and Levi is on antibiotics. Trust me, it's not much fun when both of your boys are sick. I'm definitely looking forward to Thanksgiving weekend in NC with my family (and pray Ashley and Levi are all better)!

Happy Halloween

The end of October was filled with many activities...
Hey Levi...what are you looking at outside?
Birds!
Thanks to Ashley, Levi (and Ashley and I) has a great feeder that has already attracted chickadees, cardinals and a dove. Unfortunately the dove's life was shorten by a surprise attack by Max--but the other birds seem to love the bird feeder. What a great thing to put near a toddler's window!
The end of October means Halloween...and this year, Levi got to experience several related events. His preschool hosted a Harvest Party the Thursday before Halloween. Parents were invited and all of the kids wore their costumes. It was so much fun getting to spend the day with Levi at his school. Here he is receiving his first piece of trick-or-treat candy.
Look at this great class...it amazed me how 9 kids under 2 years old would sit on the pew while we took their pictures! Levi is a skeleton. Inspecting his loot...I really haven't let him have much candy so this was a treat.

His class even had a party...another amazing thing to me was how orderly this group is...we had been outside on the playground prior to this. When we came back in, they knew to take their seats at the table...and the best thing was they stayed there and munched for the most part!
On the way home from his preschool that day, we stopped at a church near our house that was sponsoring a pumpkin patch.
The night before Halloween, Ashley's mom hosted her spooky Halloween party for the family. She really goes all out on the decorations and themed food.
Levi running around outside before the fun began (aka, the cousins arrived).
The cousins! Mallory as a bee and Ryan and Weston as football players.
Speaking of tables....I purchased this fantastic set for Levi's early Christmas present. Four chairs and a table for $100. It was a little challenging to put together because the Allen wrench the company provided was not so great..but thanks to Ashley, it's working great. Levi has been eating all of his meals there (and eating much better than he did in his highchair). I love having this in our kitchen, too, because I can tell Levi to go sit at his table and drink his milk and he will.
Oh and we did take Levi for real trick-or-treating on Halloween...just to 2 neighbors but he really seemed to enjoy it. What he loved more, was running to our front door when the doorbell rang to hand out candy to kids.
