It's summer and while most people take vacations during this season, we're hanging tight, waiting on an important visitor to arrive (no more delivering babies in Florence for me!). The baby is doing great...growing right along and is considered full-term now (37-38 weeks). According to last Friday's ultrasound, he weighs 6 lbs 4 oz. I think I'm ready for him to arrive, though I still wonder what in the world it's going to be like with THREE boys to take care of!
We have had some visitors around here and we've enjoyed them immensely. The first being of the canine variety...MAX! Max, our rat terrier, made Robert and Debbie's his permanent home once we moved from West Columbia. Although we love him (and so do the boys), we were afraid he would venture over to our neighbor's and get into his trash. Plus, he's happy over at his "grandparents." But when the grandparents are away, we bring Max over to spend the night at our house.
Here he is, getting some loving.
Max is 10 years old and has known Ashley longer than I have. He's also the age of our oldest nephew, Weston. Mason liked laying down like Max.
And then petting him (I think Max is pretty happy here, too). The boys love his spots and sometimes call him "cow dog."
Oh Maximus!
Levi took a picture of himself upside down.
and Mason pitched a fit about wanting a turn with my camera, too. What a passionate little boy!
Our other set of recent visitors was my cousin Heather and her twin girls and Aunt Donna. We had a blast hanging out earlier this week. Heather and Aunt Donna arrived with a large cooler full of food and proceeded to cook every meal, clean up afterward, and make my life wonderful. We had fun sharing our "farm life" with them, too, including cracking open a watermelon from our yard and getting dirty.
Estella munching down!
Vivienne was a fan, too!
And of course Mason was!
We thought it would be cute to get a picture of all four of them. Of course, it's not easy to get all four kids to look at the camera at the same time....
Oh sweetness! I can just imagine what it's going to be like over the years as this bunch of cousins grows up. Heather has always been my favorite cousin (we're 9 months apart) and we stay close even as adults.
I hope everyone else's summer has been going well. Stay cool!
