Lake Murray Cruise and Weston's Graduation

This has been a great week, starting with the NACADA (National Academic Advising Association) regional conference in Columbia, May 18-20. I helped coordinate the conference, including a cruise on Lake Murray for 40 participants. I persuaded Claire and Matt Robinson to join us on the lake because they love the lake like Ashley and I do.
Matt (left) had fun playing bartender. Ashley had fun cruising.
Thursday night our nephew Weston graduated from Kindergarten. Here he is marching in to Pomp and Circumstance.
And here are the two brothers outside. Ryan is going through a phase where he wears his hat backwards. In a few days the boys will be big brothers when their baby sister Mallory arrives.
We haven't taken one of these shots in a while :o)
6 weeks and counting until Baby Mac arrives! My 34th week checkup on Thursday went great. Baby Mac is moving around and has his head turned down in preparation for getting ready to meet us in a few weeks. We're both getting excited about this next chapter.

More happy days in May!

My friend Elizabeth White-Hurst organized a group of my girlfriends at USC to go to lunch a Za's Pizza to celebrate the pending arrival of Baby Mac. Here we are--Elizabeth and I on the front row. On the back, L-R: Dottie Weigel (who is expecting twin girls when I am!), Anna Redwine, Lauren Hindley, Sandra Bray, and Meredith Bellamy. Mother's Day Weekend we went to NC to visit family. My aunts hosted a baby shower for Baby Mac. Here we are: Lucille, Jeanette, me, Aunt Claudia and Aunt Donna.
The decorations were really cute (all this baby shower stuff really is fun!). Look at the little rubber duckies floating in the punch...those were my cousin Eric's when he was a baby!
The shower was held at my Aunt Claudia's. Such a pretty house! Mama gave me a copy of Love You Forever, a classic book at a mother's love for her son and the reverse.
All of my aunts are crafty. My great Aunt Teeny made me a blue sweater for baby Mac. It is precious! Here are Aunt Teeny and Aunt Peggy.Grandma will be another great-grandma when Baby Mac arrives!

Lucille made this beautiful basket. It's going to be great to hold little toys for Baby Mac!
Heather (who's 30th birthday was May 10--the date of the shower) and Amanda German (my best girl friend of 17+ years!).

Saturday night Mama and Papa went to the wedding of one of our cousins. Here they are looking spiffy in the Honda. I love this picture!!And an update on the upstairs of our house...it's basically done, sans the air conditioning being installed. I love our bamboo floors! Ashley has done an amazing job!

Shower for Baby Mac at USC

Gena Max, one of my favorite friends at USC, came by. Yay for NC girls!
Melissa and Sally really outdid themselves with decorating (Leah and Theresa helped, too). They had a place to hang pictures of all of us and a guessing game!
And the gifts were wonderful, too. These little socks are from Lindsay Hall, our GA from last year. Lindsay has a blog, too-- http://www.texasex-pats.blogspot.com/
The Dept of History faculty and staff went in to buy ALL of the bedding!!! I was really surpThis makes it very real...baby Mac will be here before we know it!!
This bag from Dr. Spruill was funny...when you opened it up, it sounded like a baby laughing!
Packed up ready to go!
