First Baby Shower- April 26

My first baby shower---hosted by Ashley's sister, Carey, and his mom, Debbie. Carey is due May 31 with Mallory Grace.Baby Mac got lots of neat things. Lily, the little girl on the right, was the gift fetcher. She's such a cute 6 year old (a granddaughter of one of Debbie's friends).
Ashley is especially excited about his own diaper bag :o).
The cake, designed after the bedding I've chosen at Target. Not only is this cake cute--it is delicious. Made by Tammy at Slice of the South. Check out her web site: http://sliceofthesouth.com/
Debbie made a fun fruit piece...Snipes, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails! Can you find each of these three things??
And Gale, Carey's sister-in-law made the diaper cake. So cute!
Baby Mac should be here in less than 10 weeks! I had my 30th week checkup this past week and everything is on track. I'm measuring exactly at 30 weeks and Baby Mac's heartbeat was 136. I hope everything goes well from here on out. June will be here before we know it!

Girls Mtn Weekend

Katie, Buffy and I went to the mountains the weekend of April 4-6 while the boys went to McBee. Even though it was a rainy weekend, we had a great time. Saturday we walked around the Grove Park Inn (thought about having lunch there but weren't impressed with the selections) and then went to downtown Asheville. We ate at the Tupelo Honey Cafe--serves excellent organic food. We had breakfast for a 2 p.m. lunch and it was delicious!
After lunch we had coffee/tea at the Double Decker Coffee House--in a real London doubledecker bus!The second floor had pretty low ceilings but it was an eclectic place to sip something warm in the drizzle outside. For dinner at the mountain house (we were staying at Ashley's parents house in Saluda), we made tappas-- brie with peach jam in pastry, honey BBQ chicken tenders, and bruschetta. And we enjoyed three chick flicks (Enchanted, 13 going on 30, and The Jane Austen Book Club) before going to bed at 1:30 a.m.!

Here's a picture from last week, my two favorite boys in bed. Max only gets to get on the bed for a few minutes on the weekend. He's soaking up his time with Ashley--look at that grin!
