May May is 10 months!

Mason, or May May as Levi calls him, turned 10 months while I have been at my parents' this weekend. He's growing strong and IS strong! He is very determined and if he has his mind on something, he will do it!
We got to visit with my Great Aunt Tib, who has always been one of my favorite family members. She makes the best tea, which Levi got to try for the first time yesterday.
Mason's 10 month photo shoot, with him sporting the classic "squint my eyes and cheeeeeese" grin. Here he is playing with Joshua and I's old car garage.
With the Play Family Castle.
And with the six-wheeled truck.
We had a great weekend while Ashley camped with his cousin--but I need my vacation now!

Spiderwebs and yummy food!

Curious George made a spiderweb this week so we made one, too. Levi helped make the spider.
And I was busy this week trying out new recipes, including this Pecan Chicken from Southern Living. I thought it was tasty!
For the side, I made broccoli orzo from Skinnytaste.com (one of my new favorite recipe sites!).
Ashley got creative, too, and set up Levi's tent in the sunroom. We left this arrangement up for a day or so but then I started to feel claustrophobic and packed it up!
Last night I made cumin-crusted pork cutlets with a red cabbage saute (another Southern Living recipe). Interesting but good! And pretty, too! Ignore how dirty the range got!
All of these recipes were easy and fast. Like I told Ashley's mom, I don't fault folks for not cooking--but for me, I really enjoy it, especially when the food turns out good! Yesterday we met with the trim guy to layout our kitchen, bathrooms, and closets for the new house. Designing my cooking space is extra exciting because it's one of my favorite hobbies.

Winter Rainy Beach Trip!

This past weekend Carey and I braved the rain and drove the kids to Myrtle Beach to meet up with Kleck and Ashley, who were at the South Carolina Nursery and Landscaping Association conference. It was a messy drive but Weston helped Mason pass the time once Mason woke up from his nap. Here they are, waiting in the car while Ashley checked us in to our hotel, the Dunes Village Resort.
The main reason we stayed at this hotel was the indoor water park. I tried to take some pictures but it was so steamy that my camera fogged up. Here are Levi and Mallory, playing at the base of a water slide.
And here is the Splash Zone that had a Silly Submarine, like the hotel we stayed at a few years ago.
We went out to eat both nights, which is an accomplishment in and of itself! The second night we ate at Bubba's Love Shack in Murrell's Inlet. Here's Levi posing with Bubba!
Staying occupied until the food arrived...
I taught Weston and Ryan how to play the Dot Game. Maybe some folks remember this from elementary school??? It was a hit!

Weston with Levi outside of the Love Shack!

I've been slack about updating this blog because I've been busy with That New House. Check it out to see the progress!
